Winter ills are nothing to sneeze at for pupils at a Christchurch school. Bradley Proud, 12, and his Chisnallwood Intermediate School classmates took time out to brush up on cold and flu hygiene in class yesterday. Pupils experienced make-believe sneezes using water spray, simulated the spread of viruses with glitter handshakes and viewed a flu-education website set up by two Auckland intermediate pupils. The lesson was part of the Kleenex SneezeSafe initiative – created in New Zealand and now used as a health- education template overseas.
