Grill sergeant

I think I have a perfect solution for the people who are grilling on Market Street. As long as they have a fire extinguisher with them, they are not hurting anybody. So let’s move Shamokin forward.

Fast buck

These women who accuse a clergy person for molesting them after he died are a joke. They want a fast buck, and the poor guy can’t defend himself.

Party of the people?

Wake up, Americans. At one time, the Democratic Party was on the side of the working class. Now, they shifted to the party of welfare and illegal immigrants because they want their votes.

Business as usual

So sorry to learn about the fire in Kulpmont being Pappy Baluta’s plumbing business. Mr. Baluta and the guys who work for him are nice people. Here’s to a quick recovery and return to business as usual!

Color fight

I just read in the July 16 edition of The News-Item that the Mount Carmel Area School Board is arguing over the color of the new tennis courts. Don’t you think red and white would be appropriate since they are the colors of our school and teams?

New low

Wow, just when you thought you have seen a new low, Vinny Clausi showed us how to go even lower. Doesn’t this man have any compassion at all? Hounding an ill office holder out the door. While county policy should not pay a full salary to someone who is on sick leave, I think we all agree temporary financial help should be fowarded to the office holder in need. Then Kurt Masser chimes in stating he does not know of how many people are employed in the very same office. Well, Kurt it is your job to know these things.

Zoo neighbors

The is in answer to “Shelter Me.” My heart goes out to you. I lived with a problem worse than yours for over 20 years with no help what so ever. That is not to say I didn’t try. I wrote, I spoke out, I called, I yelled. Ever hear the saying “You can’t fight city hall?” In this area, that is what you will be doing.
